I think Ford has put out some good cars.
Even with the recent economic troubles seen in the industry, Ford has managed to stay afloat and did this without the free bailout money from government.
I wish for them to continue to do business the old American way and not change to the the way things have been changing lately, however it doesn’t look too hopeful..
But with GM backed by the government, I fear that government will start changing the rules to tip in the government favor. It is scary what we are witnessing now.

Q: Why does Ford make such lousey cars for the American market?
In Europe, Ford makes cars like the Ka, even if its small its kinda kool looking. The other cars that Ford sells over seas and in Central and South American seem to do well. Why doesn’t Ford start making cars that are good on gas, are reliable and nice looking here in the states?
A: Well being a car design student, trust me.. the designers always come up with cool stuff. However Ford executives say no to this and yes to that. When a car doesn’t sell, they are stuck with the tooling which costs billions. So the only option is to make another new car, but with the same tooling and chassis. The best they can do is change the outer shell of the car. But the proportions will be the same from a previous model. It’s simple business, but if a car doesn’t sell… they have to make do with the expensive tooling and machinery spend. It’s like a catch 22. GM is having problems too with that.
Small cars… well ford is always the last to follow a trend, but in general most people would probably rather buy a used car than a Ka. Who knows. I can’t stand small cars, but I hate big SUV’s too. I’m 6′ 2” so small cars are crampy for a guy like me. Plus people in general want SUV’s for safety and trucks to haul the toys and dirt bikes.
I think the reason the Ka sells in Europe is that cars are probably more expensive out there. Plus people are not as materialistic about cars as we are, so we have to have cool cars. Most Americans will go to great lengths to own a cool car for the image. It’s what we grew up on. I was in Australia this past month and most people drive basic Toyota Corolla’s and Civic’s. Cars out there are more expensive, so people just buy the minimum to get form point A to point B.
Ford is just in trouble, and I will never buy a car form them. The only American car I will buy is a Jeep Wrangler.
To sum it up, it’s executive politics. Be careful what you ask for! You want a Ford that looks cool, good gas, and reliable…. but it’ll cost ya!

Being a business major, I understand the importance of a solid marketing department. But using Taylor Hicks to hock Ford cars and trucks? Come on!
Ford INVENTED the automobile. The company should have Taylor Hicks crawling on his hands and knees to it! This is a sad testament to how crappy American cars are perceived. If Ford needs gimimcs like this to move its inventory off the lots, it’s in pretty bad shape. That gray-haired dolt from Alabama (or wherever) is not going to save the company.

The Roush cars should be fighting for the win nearly every race. Or at least be in the top ten. Is the new engine package in place? Does anybody really know?
A: I don’t think that Ford has started their new engine yet. The thing about the new engines that Toyota and Chevy and now even Dodge have been using is that the wider spacing cylinders have allowed the cars running the new engines to run cooler. When they run cooler then the teams running the engines with the wider cylinder bore spacing were able to submit new front nose designs for the cars which have narrower openings. A narrower opening for the radiator means the cars benefit aerodynamically and it creates more down force. When a team can create more down force on a car it translates to a better handling car. Jack mentioned earlier this year that he would start using the new engines later on this season. I don’t think he has used them yet. He may save them for right before the chase. I believe he has been trying the new engines in other series of racing to avoid having problems in the NASCAR racing series. That plan may have backfired on him because he is slowly loosing ground to other teams in the points.
Q: On sims 2, i downloaded the Ford cars but i dont see them?
On the Sims 2 website, i clicked on exchange and then objects, and a whole bunch of Ford cars came up so i checked to see if i could download them, and it said it required sims 2 only (which I have). So i installed it on package installer and the box said “download successful!” but when i played the game, it didn’t show up in the cars section?
A: When you are in the game go into ‘options’ and then find “Enable Custom Content” and click yes. They then should show up in the game.

I have a 1964 Ford Fairlane 500 2 door sedan. Only 24 thousand something made of this body style.
It is the same body as the thunderbolt. How does my car rate for rareness?
A: 50 1966 Fairlane 500s with 427. There were only 50 or so, all white, with black BENCH seat interiors, all made in the Atlanta plant. That is one of them.
