Q: Car detail forums, can you believe them?
I recently joined a car forum and begin to talk about my experiences with the new
Turtle wax I had tried. I was amazed when I was verbally attacked by some of the members because the product I was endorsing was a competitor to the host of the site.
When I tried to explain that I thought it was forum for discussion of experiences. I was banned from the site. Are all car forums like that? Do they exist to help the members or sell a particular companies product?
A: The mechanical info may be helpful, however when the detail guys start up with their spew on the virtues of wax. It can get to be monotonous.
The Wax companies create these forums to create an interest in their products.
One thing for certain, You won’t learn about any new detail products, no matter how advanced, If they are produced by a rival company.

Q: What are car heads? Iv been on forums and it talks about putting a rb25 head on a rb30 block?
I want to know what part of the engine is the head and what part is the block. I like rb30 engines

A: The head is the top, where the valvetrain is (right beneath the valve cover)
The block is under the head, it holds the pistons, connecting rods, and the crank.
This is how a motor is, top to bottom.
(top) -valvecover
-head
-block
(bottom) -oil pan
Cam shafts control your valves, telling them when to open and close.

Q: What are good groups, forums etc. to announce the sale of a highly collectable car?
My website client is auctioning the Corolla in their song that ushered in the movement away from super-sized SUV’s: “90 Pound Suburban Housewife Driving in Her SUV” http://www.90poundsuv.com They have it listed on eBay and are looking for where to post info in order to point car collectors toward the auction.
A: You’re kidding it’s a bloody Corolla with ABSOLUTELY NO car collector value… at all. Take the current $202.50 bid and be happy with that. Its mileage is excessive (145,000), its an ugly color with no distinguishing traits, needs engine work (no timing belt and a cracked valve) and did I mention its a Corolla!
Its been said that there’s a sucker born every minute….. Again…. Did I mention that it’s a Corolla w/145,000 miles and needs engine work?
You won’t sell it on ANY car collector sites (it has NO car collector value, it’s a Corolla), you need to find a site that caters to green peace yuppies with cash left over from drug purchases or sales.
Q: Dodge Neon forums for car-related questions?
So I have a 1998 Dodge Neon and the heater and AC seem to be broken. Either that or I seriously need to replace it with some alternative until I can buy a car that does better in crashes (it has a seriously bad crash test rating by my standards when I saw its ratings) and has a working AC and heater.
Are there any popular car forums where I can ask these questions? If not, are there any similar forums because if I have to take it into the shop, I’d like to know what questions I should ask if not just what I should be prepared for.
