auto forum
A: Yes they do. I’ve seen them myself.
They will break it down to all the different grits of sandpaper. They leave testimonials as to how well it worked for them.
Most people avoid sandpaper fixes. But a lot of them buy into it.
Plastic headlight lens are easy to scratch and cloud even with polish. Never under any circumstance use any kind of sandpaper wet or dry on your plastic headlights.
Q: Is there an online forum for auto mechanics that discuss the best companies to work for?
Is there a forum for auto mechanics that discuss different places that mechanics worked and what was good and bad about them.
Example: I work at a dealer and the warranty times are killing me. I was thinking about leaving for an independent service center. What I am looking for is your personal experience with Pep Boys, Strauss Auto, Sears, Firestone, etc.
A: Not that I know of, but either yourself of Toyota are the two best to work for. Dealership mechanic for a lot of years.
Q: What is the Best Free Forum Auto Post Tool out there that I can get?
I am New to this but I see that there are tools out there that allow you to Post a Comment or Thread of lots of Forums that you are a Member of with 1 click. Can somebody please tell me about these Tools or provide a Link to Download one of these Tools if possible? Thank You.
A: That’s how you quickly become a non-member on most of them. No one likes spam, not even forum owners.
Q: Is there another Auto forum as lame as Autopia?
I went to this web site and it was like stepping into the past All they talked about was claybar, paint swirls and wax, If someone brought up the topic of a new product they would cut it down and ban the member. They are really just a long running advertisment for outdated car wax that they want to sell. Are there any other forums as lame as Autopia and the fool who runs it David B?
A: I would not call that a forum, More like a meeting of spanky and our gang.
Its true about the clay bar, swirls, microfiber towels orbital buffers and old fashion car wax.
The stuff they tell you to use causes swirls, I am a victim of that. Their answer was to do it over again.
I pity the fools that take their advise who have new cars.
They are still telling people to put wax on acrylic clear coats and paints. The sites dictatorial management will not allow you to discuss another product unless you are making a negative response about it. I have not found any web site forum as ridiculous or gave out as much bad information as Autopia.
Q: How do I create an auto-updating forum signature?
Hey guys!
First, have a look here:
http://www.narobook.com/testing/generator.php
http://crossfirefrance.com/index.php?news_id=2
and
http://www.fpstactics.com/gaming_signatures.php
You see that a generator creates an UPDATING forum signature.
How can I do that?
How do you create something like that and make the image updating?
A: In either PHP and asp.net (and others), there are dynamic image creation libraries.
Generally speaking you will accept parameters in the URL string, execute program logic against those parameters then use the image libraries in your chosen language to create the image then set the appropriate content type before you dump it out to the http stream.

You need to have php and install free mysql (which is very easy to use if you download the provided tools)

Q: On Proboards, is there any way to make the forum width “auto” so it will adjust to the size of the screen?
On my site I had a side table on each side, but some of the members are complaining that the screen is stretched out because the width of the site is to large. If anyone knows if an auto width or anything similar is available please let me know. Thanks
A: Have you tried setting the width to a percentage of the whole page:
width = “90%”
Also, the people in the Support Forum are quite knowledgeable, and they should be able to give you specifics:

Q: Auto Repair Forum is Broken, Whats Wrong?
Hi all, I am an ASE Certified Master Tech and also an ASE L1 Advanced Tech. and I see a lot of people on here who honestly need help that are getting pathetic information from Backyard Benny and people who don’t even understand what they are talking about. I also see other people on here like me that are trying to help that do know what they are doing because the answers are correct but Backyard Benny or Side Job Bob keeps giving them a thumbs down. The misinformation on this forum is horrible and ultimately drives up the prices of vehicle repair for everyone in the long run because people spend money they don’t have for something that doesn’t fix the car then they take it back to the store and the store sends it back then the manufacturer raises the prices to compensate for Backyard Benny’s stupidity. I see people on here thinking all the time that they are getting ripped off when they are just mad over what they don’t understand. People on here actually think that a code reader will tell you what part to change when it is nothing like that. The machine that fixes cars does not exist folks unless you are talking about an experienced human mind. You people on here know who you are. You either are trying to help and know what you are doing or you are looking stupid trying to impress your mechanical intelligence that you don’t have on other people honestly looking for help, and you are just looking stupid to the people that do know what they are doing. Come on folks if you don’t know what you are talking about with your answers find another forum to run up your score and let the real auto people on here help the people that really need it.
A: I can understand your frustration but what I find most troubling is that this forum seems to have become more of an entertainment playground than a useful Q&A automotive repair forum. It seems the vast majority of questions here has become so frivolous that they are not even worthy of serious attention.
Q: anyone know a good auto mechanic help forum?
I just bought my first car, and like most people’s first cars it is a project car and needs a little work. I’m not really sure what the problem is so I need some more experienced advice. If anyone could recommend a decent and reliable, free, auto help forum that would be great.
While I’m already here I might as well state my problem and see what you guys think: My car wont start unless I give it gas. It only takes a little bit, but when I do it starts and runs fine. And it starts when I give it gas everytime, like clockwork, except maybe literally like twice. Now when I don’t it only starts about 20% of the time. When it doesn’t start it does a couple quick sputters (maybe just engine turnover? I’m not totally sure its a really quiet v6. So quiet the only way I can tell it didn’t start half the time is because the rpm gauge falls back to zero) and dies. I’ve already replaced quite a few filters and fluids recently including: air filter, fuel filter, transmission fluid and filter, thermostat, coolant, oil, and that’s all I can think of right now. I don’t think most of these will directly affect my problem but I’m listing them anyways.
PS: the problem has been the same since I bought the car, even after the things I’ve replaced. And there was RUST in the coolant reservoir tank when I got it. I cleaned most of it out now, but still something to note.
A: First of all, I would take it back to the person whom you bought it from, especially if the person didn’t tell you of the problem, and it has done it since you bought it. However, I must tell you that some older vehicles can get flooded easily if given gas upon starting the vehicle, unless in fact, it has a corroborator. If it does, sometime you must add a bit of gas into it to get it to start. This does not seem like it is the problem, however. I would have to listen to it, and do an inspection myself, to know for sure. They can test it at Auto zone or Advanced auto parts stores for free, since I can not be there to help you. I think this sounds a bit like the trademark of the fuel pump having a little trouble. I am sorry I could not be more help. Good luck and God bless. Alias.
Q: forum chatbox with auto refresh?
I am looking for a good FREE chatbox for a forum with auto-refresh or realtime..anything along that line. (You get the point.)

Q: Looking for an automotive detail forum ?
I’m looking for an good auto detailing forum to join. All the ones I have googled have been not so good. help me find a good one.
A: what are your requirements?
Q: Is there a such thing as an auto-poster for forums?
I mean something similar to a Runescape Auto-Typer, as in, it will type what I mean for it to say, but I need it to post as well.
This is meant for me to raise my post-count on a forum that allows this.
Preferably one that works with Vbulletin.
My forum allows post-count raising in a certain section and it is unlikely that I will get banned, for there would be no way for them to discern whether or not I was doing it with or without an auto-poster, because there is a 10-second wait between posts.
A: There probably is but the answers might not be written in correct English or the answer will have nothing to do with the question!
Q: need good auto upgrade forum?
i need a good forum/ guide site for aftermarket upgrading cars,
also a website with a catalog of aftermarket parts would be appreciated
A: It depends on the kind of car. Many forums are car specific. Just go to Google and type in “*name of your car* forum”
Some good sites for aftermarket parts are:
www.andysautosport.com
www.extremedimensions.com
www.nopionline.com
